In the meantime, you'll see a definite increase in your SERPS because Google's PR alogrithe is dynamic and although you don't see it on the toolbar doesn't mean it's not updated and being used for SERPS.

Hope these tips help !! I know how you feel about waiting for that little green bar to finally show something, been thesem done that :-)

Dave's last blog post..Cash Advances and Payday Loans

Re: Google PR: The Sh!t or Just Plain Sh!t?

I just noticed this in your favorite posts with the new theme. On that note, we seem to have something else in common, other than geography: sql and in my case asp rather than php. Having written code somewhat like page rank ( mostly fraud detection ) I don't put much stock in algorithms like that one. I think development work has changed the way I look at a lot of things.

Also, if you look into the webmaster console, at your highest pr page, it's never the one with the most traffic from search engines or all sources combined. It's a view from 10,000 feet, but it's just too little information.

Forrest's last blog post..The Columbia River Gorge

Re: Google PR: The Sh!t or Just Plain Sh!t?

Thanks, Bobby! =)

Re: Google PR: The Sh!t or Just Plain Sh!t?

Cool post!!!!! It is sort of a niche-related obsession. I think true value is certainly better reflected in page views and visitors. It'd be nice if the IM/Make Money/Blogging niche thought that way about it.

Sara

Re: Google PR: The Sh!t or Just Plain Sh!t?

Bloggers shouldn't lose any sleep over a PR rank/drop. That'll be tragic. PR doesn't mean more readers and subscribers or that a certain blog is better (or wrose). However PR does allow you to demand more for your ad space, review, etc. And since we are in the internet marketing niche, that's why it is more "important". Otherwise, if you look around other blogs outside of this niche. They don't really care for it, and they still sell ads or value sites/blogs based on page-views and unique visitors each month. Not PR, Technorati, Alexa, etc.

Domtan's last blog post..Why Apply Sexy Internet Marketing
