Good point about keywords, I suppose they would be not-so-helpful. If they don't actually help Adsense choose what to put on your page then they do seem quite useless. And thanks for the great article link, I'm going to have fun combing that site for all kinds of info!

I think meta tags are even more effective now as most people don't bother with it. As your blog matures, those meta tags will help your indexing be more defined.

With so many millions of blogs, I think we need to do all we can do to stand out.

I think even adding a description for each category you have can help as nobody does that! It's similar in function.

With wordpress, I fill in ALL the blanks. That's why they're there!

That's a great point. If everyone skips it then those of us who don't will have an advantage. How would you add a description to a specific category page? Do you have a post about how to do that?

as long as meta tags can still help in my rankings i will still use it... I think i will only stop using it when Google finally bans it...

I dont think google will actually ban them... Maybe they will find a better algorithm or a better system where they will no longer need meta tags... but for now... i will still use meta tags...

I think that Title and Meta Description tags are useful. But, Meta keywords tag is not useful.
