Pajama Professional: Playing Follow the Leader with Liz Strauss

  • Liz Strauss · 2 years ago
    Hi Sara,
I just got back from a meeting to find your post. I printed it out to read it, and then I took it into another room.

I agree. We can't rush real thinking or the enjoyment and experience that comes from doing it. We're the ones that we're letting down when we do "fast food" reading. :)

What a luxury it is to actually think, to use my brain and have an idea! Thank you for reminding me of what I thought I already knew.

    Liz,

Your post made me realize that anyone could be a leader and a thinker. By skimming posts I'm doing both the blogger and myself a major disservice.

In the last few days I've completely changed the way I read other blogs. I downloaded a desktop news aggregator so I can keep posts that I want to revisit. I'd forgotten how wonderful it feels to carefully read an article and let it sink in, rolling it around in my head for awhile. When I've finished reading, I leave them in my reader so I can revisit them later.

So, thank you for inspiring the post in the first place. Approaching Steve Pavlina with the same mindset as I would Edmund Burke has been very refreshing!

    Sara,
Wow! Thank you for telling me and for this conversation. Being able to "go deep" and "gain meaning" rather than just capture thoughts has lead me to have some startling and exciting ideas. Wondering is a fine and noble passtime, never intended just for the leisure class. :)

Aloha Sara, I clicked over from your trackback at Liz's place, and must tell you - you did a wonderful job telling your story about Father Reichmann (and the post is terrific too :) - great writing.

you can follow the nonleaders which are also leaders, but then you might end up really "humble" like a hobbit, humans remind me of hobbits.
