Pajama Professional: Posting Frequency: Is There An Optimum?

  • Bobby Revell · 2 years ago
I was trying to read the comments left by others but I cannot find them. I clicked where it says 12 comments and it brought up the comment window.

How do I see the actual comments?
  • Sara Ch. · 2 years ago
    Bobby,

You are the first person to notice in the MANY months since I tweaked that. I changed the code so it always says there are 12 comments until someone posts an actual comment. I actually forgot I still had it tweaked like that.

Interesting Article! Well I was planning to write on what time you should post the articles.
    Thanks for the mention.

I looked at Bu.bulio.us. What this blog is doing is simply working Google. Does the blog deserve that many page views? After one look, I'd say no.

It's the same old same old. You can find the exact same content at 25,000 other blogs. If I vist a blog once a week and in 7 days they have published 21 articles, I'll read the 1st one and skip the other 20.

It's obvious that is happening. I leave on or two posts up for 2-3 days before I publish a new one. I use no schedule and use intuition to know when to post.

It proves that quantity, regardless of quality, is king. I hope Google changes things. I could do the same thing as this guy and be just as successful. I believe in quality based on readers who I know personally.

I develop my friendships. It will take me longer to get to the top but I will not pump out endless, meaningless posts just to saturate the market with my chosen keywords.

I was Court Tuttles # 1 commentator for a while. However, he barely replies to any of them. As sad as it is, he has pretty much lost me as a reader.

When you have few comments like him, there is no excuse not to answer ALL of them. I leave over 100 comments per day on other blogs (everyday). It takes hours. I think in the long run, it is a better way

When you rise fast your chances of falling are MUCH greater. I am climbing slowly and am better prepared for a fall!

    Bobby,

After checking out Bu.bulio.us I have to agree with you. I could add 8 posts about how my cat sneezed or I had ham on rye for lunch between each quality post, but I would completely lose the sense of pride I feel when I scroll through my archives.

I too am taking on blogging with plenty of patience. There is no need for me to rush so I am learning as I go and trying my best to keep my content fresh and helpful. Your blog definitely reflects that you are doing the same.

Hey Sara! I think patience is the key. Don't get in a hurry. You're very smart and a great writer. That alone separates you from the crowd.

I added you to my blogroll. I am really just a beginner blogger. I am not a beginner at writing or life however.

I was very impressed at your knowledge of root words. It's been an interest of mine for years! I have studied philosophy all my life from every culture. That is one idea behind my tag line.

If things get deep, people tend to overlook it! I have much to learn about everything as does everyone. I admire you for seeing through the facade of what many blogs offer!
  • Sara Ch. · 2 years ago
    Thanks Bobby!

I think you are absolutely correct about people overlooking things with depth. I catch myself doing it often and force myself not to cut corners. So many people miss out on great things because they half-ass everything trying to save time or energy or who-knows-what.

When I find I am starting that lazy crap I remind myself that the cliche is true and I am only cheating myself. It sounds cheesy when I write it out like that, but if I don't check in periodically I run the risk of getting caught up in trying to find the shortest way between two points.

Sara, I know this is a bit off topic, but not really. What kind of traffic have you been seeing from blogrush? I have it up on a few of my sites and I get maybe 1 or 2 a day. However I could get 2,000 to 3,000 from stumbleupon in a day after a post. I still have it on Mind of a Hustler but took it off some other sites. I am just looking for any insight you might have.
  • Sara Ch. · 2 years ago
    Hustler,

It's not really off topic. =) I haven't done a major stat check since last weekend. At that point BlogRush was nothing to write home about. After I check things out in the next couple of days I'll let you know how it's going. It certainly is not the astronomically amazing tool it was touted to be.

I have to take back what I said about Court. I think I have become overly irritated by so many folks I don't stop to think.

Court is one of the sharpest guys out there and I do read his blog just about everyday.

His new post where he is letting readers write on a chosen subject and get linked from him is TOTALLY COOL. Just from signing on, I have gained traffic.

More bloggers should be as giving as he is.
  • Sara Ch. · 2 years ago
    Bobby,

I kinda felt the way you did about Court for a bit, too. Then I realized that he does try to interact and give back. He's a good guy and certainly has a lot of great information and ideas to offer.

    Hello
I've just registered at the forum. This is my first message.
Please don't become angry about me.
    Thank you.

    Hi,

I just wanted to check back in. At Mind of a Hustler, I have still no seen any significant traffice from BlogRush. It may be that my titles are not engaging enough or just that the service does not work well for me.

I still get my best traffic from StumbleUpon. However, I will say that EntreCard is doing fairly well for me. I just wanted to let you know what was happening since this topic is still being discussed.

actually i would think that posting frequency is related to the type of audience you are trying to attract.
if you are trying for loyal readers and RSS subscribers, a frequent posting schedule will prob attract them as they attempt to keep track of your posts.

If you are trying for search engine traffic with keyword rich articles, i would think that a longer articles with sufficient keyword density would do the job..i.e. frequent posting not required..

Putting up a good article which adds value to the readers should be the aim. Posting frequency is a consequence of how much material you have to contribute.
  • Day Spas · 1 year ago
I think frequency all depends on your particular niche. It's hard to find enough new content for certain niches to post 3 times per day IMO.

    Thanks for your efforts.

I have found for myself that blogging more frequently does not translates in more visitors. Quite the opposite was true for me. Now I publish posts 2-3 times a week and see more people subscribing to my email list and also increase in ad earnings

Interesting! Most of the bloggers I know update at least every other day. The more the merrier in my opinion!
  • Passenger Van Rentals · 1 year ago
I think the more you post -- the better. I don't see how frequent posts could do any harm.
  • John · 1 year ago
Quality is the most important factor. I think one post per day is enough. Any less, and people might start to lose interest.
  • Think Horses · 1 year ago
I agree with John above; quality is so important if you are trying to build a site with a long term future; if you are looking to get rich quick then obviously post as many times as possible!
