Pajama Professional: Zoc Doc: New Technologies Simplifies Finding Health Care Providers

  • Bonnie@Data Entry Services · 11 months ago
I am in GA so couldn't use this service. But it's funny you should mention it because my dentist just sent me out an email with the details to make appointments, check my accounts, etc. online. Looks like that's the future and I like it.

It looks like you have huge dental issues. First Wisconsin, now New York... Zoc Doc is sure to help you first. :-)

I'm actually a college student and this is really useful for me. Luckily I am still under my Dad's insurance, but once that runs out, I'll be in a tight spot.

I have an internship where they claim any "preexisting conditions" can mean a 3-year wait to get actual coverage. That is just ridiculous. I declined coverage obviously.

One of my friends could've used this when he had asthma. He had to move out of his house (which had mold in places you wouldn't believe) due to lack of communication with his doctor. Fortunately, he doesn't have asthma anymore, but I've got family that could use this too.

Looks pretty promising. It will be really great if this expands. Then probably on a worldwide basis? Haha.. thanks for the sharing the review by the way.

Experiments in Cyberspace: you may be onto something there. I wore braces for five years so I suppose I am a bit OCD about my teeth. I guess it's running over into my blog as well. LOL! =)

Ohhhhh! I hope they expand this to Seattle! Customer reviews are a wonderful idea ... health is more important than home improvement ( etc ), so much that we tend not to look at doctors and dentists as "service providers" who "work for" us, and entirely fail to do the kind of diligence that goes into buying a car. Even though the stakes are so much higher.

    Great find!

I too simply love online technology. Zoc Doc dot com sounds like a pretty useful resource for sure.
  • Think Horses · 11 months ago
That's pretty awsome; I just wish they had something like this for the UK.

I also like the idea. Other businesses should start to consider to do the same. A lot of things will go online.
  • Experiments in Cyberspace · 11 months ago
@Sara: I knew it :-=). Yet, the idea of Zoc Doc is very good, indeed. Although I doubt you will have access to such data, it might be interesting to follow them up and post your findings, here.

p.s. don't miss the teeth in the smiley.

I think that giving doctors rating can be a dangerous game. All it takes is one disgruntled patient to ruin a doctors reputation.
  • Bonnie@Data Entry Services · 11 months ago
I think most people are smart enough not to judge based on one bad review. Dave's comment is true of all public reviews. The doctor you choose is very important.
  • Experiments in Cyberspace · 11 months ago
Addendum: I think I should have made my point more clearly. Good ideas come and go and sometimes however good you might be, things do not go bright. This is a risk when you are ahead of the others. Documenting in a way the experience, business and technical decisions can be worthwhile for all other on-line ventures.

We had a plan thru a work affiliation and it just got canceled. What a pain, you sign up for one year and the next year, you get to start over looking again. Nice to see a service like this, could be a big help
